On Saturday, Trentham comes alive with our famous street fair held in the heart of town. Visit four precincts packed full of delicious spud food, fresh regional produce, local artisan makers, live music, and loads of activities for kids and adults alike.

(SUNDAY only)

Sunday is dedicated to the discovery of food, produce, and region. Spend the day exploring delicious foodie trails with farm gates filled with fresh produce or take a rambling historic tour of our beloved town. Join a tour of one of our renowned local farms, sign up for The Great Spud Scavenger Hunt, or simply spend the day eating your way through spudtastic dishes across venues throughout the region.

I recruit and manage the volunteers who are a valuable support to the Committee in delivering our incredible two day event.

🏡 How does Spudfest contribute and support our local Trentham community and surrounds?
Each year Spudfest brings thousands of people into town and raises thousands of dollars for our community groups. Spudfest also provides opportunities for our beloved spud farmers to engage with the public and educate them on the many varieties of spuds, delivers many customers to the doors of our local traders, artisans and vendors and it showcases our region’s amazing local produce, venues and history.

Sunny weather so everyone can enjoy the amazing range of activities, food, shopping and experiences we have on offer.

Trentham’s farmers don’t just grow potatoes—they grow legends! 🌟

For generations, these spud-loving legends have been working the land, perfecting their potato-growing craft. From fluffy Dutch Creams to golden Kipflers and hearty Sebagos, they’ve got a tater for every craving.

Trentham even has a potato seed farmer! Rob Lockhart, aka “Sprocket”, is making sure future spuds continue to roll off the fields for years to come. 🏆
This year we have the Bruton, Dunn and Wicker families selling spuds. @spudsistersofficial are also visiting for the day!

These farmers are the heart and soil of our town, and we couldn’t be prouder of their dedication, passion, and dirt-covered boots. 👩‍🌾👨‍🌾

Make sure you get down to the Railway Precinct on Day 1, Saturday 3 May, to support our spud farmers! They will also be around on Day 2, Sunday 4 May, at the Spud Hub to get your tater fix!🥔

This International Women’s Day, we’re shining a light on some of the incredible Trentham women who make our community what it is.

Jenna Bruton carries her family’s farming heritage with pride. As part of a four-generation Trentham spud farming family and an AFLW premiership player for North Melbourne, she understands the power of hard work, resilience, and community! Whether on the footy field or the farm, Jenna’s roots keep her grounded and drive her forward. The Brutons will be selling their spuds in the Railway Precinct on the Saturday and at the Spud Hub on the Sunday.

Beth Toomey knows Trentham like the back of her hand. With generations of her family calling this place home, she grew up surrounded by the stories and traditions of the region. As the tour guide for the Spud Hut Tours by the Trentham Historical Society happening on the Saturday of Spudfest, she shares that history with visitors, bringing Trentham’s potato-growing past to life in a way only a true local can. If you’ve been on one of her tours, you know she’s a storyteller like no other!

Trentham, and Spudfest, wouldn’t be the same without the incredible women who share their stories, skills, and passion. They are two of many that keep our spud-loving community thriving. Today, and every day, we celebrate them!

The Trentham Traders Night for Spudfest 2025 was a fantastic evening of connection, ideas, and planning for this year’s festival. With just three months to go, local businesses came together at @hoteltrentham to discuss how we can make this year’s event even better for our town and visitors ✨🏡

Hepburn Shire Council shared insights on how to make the most of the 1000s of visitors coming to Trentham, and the Spudfest Committee provided updates on what’s in store, including the return of Discovery Day!

We are busy cooking up exciting plans with our town’s businesses to bring you the best Spudfest yet! 🥔🎉 Expect additional activations throughout the town, run by our amazing local businesses, making this a festival to remember.

Thanks to everyone who joined us in Trentham on Saturday 4 May (Carnival Day) to celebrate Spudfest in town. It was a wonderful day.

Unfortunately, a number of visitors arrived in town on Sunday, expecting to find our festival in full swing, unaware that our carnival day was Saturday. We couldn’t be more sorry that we had disappointed visitors in our beautiful town on Sunday.

For the first time in many years, we extended Spudfest from a one-day festival, to a two day celebration. Extensive details about the different programs for Day 1 and Day 2 were provided on our website, in our printed program (which was also downloadable from our website), across media coverage in newspapers, online and radio, and regular social media posts.

While we believed we had effectively communicated this information, we understand that these details did not reach some people.

There was plenty happening on Sunday, including sold out local farm tours, a self-guided farm gate trail, the Great Spud Scavenger Hunt, and delicious potato meals across venues throughout the region and historic tours around town. But no carnival.

We are looking at ways to make sure our messaging is clearer for next year.
